TOUHOU is a bullet hell series created by ZUN. It is known for its difficulty, music and characters, as well as being a major source of doujin content. This includes artwork, music, fangames, manga and more. Many fanmade Touhou content tends to go viral online. Touhou is probably one of the most important pieces of media to me. Almost everything I make has some type of Touhou DNA in it, specifically my drawings. I know a lot of people think Touhou's art is wonky but I love those imperfections, they feel homemade and you can clearly tell how ZUN has improved in his art from game to game. Touhou is also how I met many of my dearest friends or have gotten closer to them. While it's a large series, I think everyone should try to get into it, even if its just reading the manga or failing at the games.

My first ever exposure to Touhou was when I was around 12 and came across Ronald McDonald Insanity, a MAD of Japanese McDonalds commercials to U.N. Owen Was Her? However, I properly got into Touhou around 2016. I don't quite remember how exactly, but I do remember watching a lot of 1cc runs of various Touhou games and listening to the OST on YouTube.

I've only just recently been able to actually play the games on my own. I'm not that good at them, just barely getting through Easy Mode, but I still enjoy them. Hopefully one day I can succesfully 1cc Normal Mode.
